New at Car creation
« on: 07/22/12, 08:26 AM »
Hey guys, it's been a little while since i last posted anything on here, but i have run into an issue. I recently started trying to make my own cars for the COT cup series mod, but i can't get the car to work, you know the paint scheme is all offset (bad). Any who, if there is any advice or any kind of thread or website anyone knows of that can go through the steps of creating the car using Paint shop Pro (from finishing the car and what i need to do to the file while in Adobe paint shop, to the proper way of uploading it) i would be eternally great-full. Thanks!

It sounds as though you may not be using the correct template for whichever CoT mod (there's 3 or 4, maybe more, out there) you're painting for. The templates are mod-specific (meaning that they are not interchangeable) so you need to be certain that you're using the templates from the same site where you got the CoT mod.
I went outside once. The graphics weren't all that great.

Just to be sure though, when done designing car, flatten layers, save as .tga file in the imports_exports file, then go into game and import car.... Just wanna see if i did something wrong.

Yeah, you're doing it correctly, as far as getting it into the game.  Go to opponent manager and hit new car.  Select the make you want, and hit OK.  Then import your tga file.  If it looks wrong, cancel and don't save, and try another make.  Good luck!!

No need to flatten the layers before you save as a .tga though. Saving as a .tga automatically flattens the file. Besides, if you flatten it 1st and forget to undo that action before you save the file, you won't be able to rework any part of it if you need to.
