im trying my hand at making a track the problem i have is where do i put the mip files so thay will show up in f section properties

You need to place the mip files in a folder named 'trackmat' which should be inside the folder of the track you are working on.

What Rob said, but also don't add them while u have a track open as Sandbox has a tendency to crash when you do that.  You will learn that it likes to crash ALOT for all sorts of reasons.  Backup everything and make multiple copies in multiple folders.
