Dale drove this Lumina to his 6th of 7 eventual championships. This car shows the standard paint scheme in place for the 1993 racing season with the old style white border GM logo but again just with the word Goodwrench underneath the logo. Mac Tools would have a logo on the front quarter panel and a larger logo in front of the rear wheel wells. Western Steer shows at the decal on the rear quarter panel although by the Pocono race, Mom and Pops had become the rear sponsorship. The window frame held the AC Delco decal. A leader both on and off the track, Earnhardt proved once again in 1993 that his successes would be constant year after year. With six wins, two poles, seventeen top-5's and earnings over $3 million, 1993 was one of Earnhardt's best years. With the final eight races in the season, Dale's 304 point advantage dwindled to 72 points, then with four races left and the competition in hot pursuit, Earnhardt strove for a final drive towards victory. With a 126 point lead in the finale, he finished tenth and captured the championship by 80 points over contender Rusty Wallace. This would mark Jeff Gordon's rookie year.
