"Lil" Bud became a pretty good driver, especially in the lower racing series. However, 1964 was not his year at all. It was to be his big debut, but he only qualified for three races. At Nashville, he overheated. At Darlington, he crashed. Finally, at Jacksonville he only managed 64 laps before his fuel tank gave out on him.
