1990 Busch Grand National Set
« on: 02/25/12, 03:54 AM »
I'm hoping this will get moved to the announcements page, but anyway;

It is my pleasure to announce the beginning stages of the 1990 NASCAR Busch Series carset. I had been wondering if anyone was going to make one for quite a while, and it's been long enough, so you're in luck. I will need some help with some of the schemes, logo and font id's, some numbers and logos drawn along with a few other things. This will be a tough project in regards of tracking pictures and finding / making a lot of the older logos. I can only guess how most of the cars look due to mostly all of the shots being front and side shots. Any pictures not on the HSCRF would be a great help, whether or not the car itself is already on HSCRF. If anyone would like to help out with this, I would greatly appreciate it as my time is limited. Simply join our facebook group if you are interested in helping.

And some teasers......

Kyle Petty's #42 SplitFire Spark Plugs Pontiac. This will also be an easy renumber for Todd Bodine's #81 Pontiac. This is not quite done, need a few small decals along with the Grand Prix logo on the nose.

Feel free to join the group on Facebook as I will more then likely keep that more updated then on here for the meantime.

Great work so far. I think the facebook group is a great idea for this type of project. We usually delete the attachments here every 90 days, so these images will go away.

I can add the facebook group link to the first post if you like, that way folks can find it easier.

Hey, thanks for editing the post.

As far as those of you who do not use Facebook, you can browse it without having a Facebook account and view the pictures, and I'm almost certain you can read our posts about the set as well. You can feel free (if you have a Facebook account) to join the group and also invite anyone you'd like. I could use any help I can get.

The Jeff Gordon #67 Outback car is just lacking the number. I need a font ID on that.

I'm simply bumping this post to ensure that some of the newer members of this site and forum have a chance to see this.

I know it doesn't seem like many but there are a lot more cars in progress (approximately 33 cars in the works), but these are the cars that are fully completed (or 99% completed);

#01 Geoff Bodine Budweiser Ford
#2 L.D. Ottinger Detroit Gasket Oldsmobile (99%)
#3 Dale Earnhardt GM Goodwrench Chevrolet (99.9%)
#6 Tommy Houston Rose's Stores Buick
#17 Darrell Waltrip / Greg Sacks Superflo Motor Oils Chevrolet (99%)
#25 Jimmy Hensley Fast Fare Oldsmobile (two variations)
#42 Kyle Petty Splitfire Spark Plugs Pontiac
#42 Kyle Petty Ame's Department Store Pontiac (two variations)
#62 Rick Ware Otter Pops Chevrolet (99%)
#67 Jeff Gordon Outback Steakhouse Pontiac (99%)
#75 Jimmy Hensley Fast Fare Oldsmobile

I ask you to join the group (link below in my signature) to receive updates. If you do not have a Facebook account you may still access the page without signing up and still see all the updates and pictures.

With that being said, are there any painters that wouldn't mind helping out? I could use some help. Whatever you want to design. Cars, driver suits, pit crews, logos, numbers, bases, etc. If you'd like to help me you can either PM me or send me an email (check in profile).

You can join the Facebook group by clicking the link below in my signature.

If you wish to help, I ask you email me with some examples of your work. My email is cakin24@gmail.com I just ask that you put something in the subject such as "BGN90 Help" or similar.

Thanks, and I know it's been a long process (and will still be a while before it's complete). I only update this here occasionally from time to time, if you join the Facebook group you will get all the updates with pictures included. You don't even need a Facebook account to see the group or the pictures.
