Some of you are going to think I'm nuts, but... I recently got NetFlix and discovered that they have a lot of old racing related movies. I just finished watching "Fireball 500" with Frankie Avalon, Fabian and Annette Funicello -
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0060415/I expected to hate it and turn it off after 20 minutes, but it wasn't all that bad. Best part is it's got a ton of old racing footage, including dirt stock cars at Ascot Speedway and some fun stuff of the Daytona 500 from probably 1965. Avalon is supposedly driving that famous powder blue 43 Plymouth and Fabian ends up in a Paul Goldsmith car. Tons of crashes and spins in all the races they show throughout the movie.
I'm going to go dig up some more gems if I can find them.
