Damage Modeling
« on: 08/04/10, 11:31 AM »
Was racing some Bull-Ring cars last nite and noticed when they hit the wall there was very little damage. My damage level was set at realistic.

Is the lack of damage because of the modern mod templates as opposed to regular cup?

Thx
Steve

well, Bull Ring COT is your main problem. They didn't do a terrible job but they are Sub-Par compared to the cup10S. The damage on them in not as realistic as most other mods. But there is a limitation as far as the damage model goes. That is controlled by the .exe which unless you want to get sued its not wise to mess with. You cant get 100% realistic but you can get it to where it looks good.

Guys. To be clear. The EXE is not where the damage model is created. It's in the model that is put into the game. Each level of damage is modeled and scripted to trigger upon impact based on how hard it hits.

The cup10s models, and all of Denis' models for that matter, have the best damage in NR2003. Period. Bar NONE.

The templates don't make a bit of difference.

Try the Cup10s mod and play whack a wall for a while. You'll see what I mean.

Yep Roberts right. I had the pleasure of making the damage for the cts07. I wasnt going for realistic either I was just plain going for tearing the hell out of them..  :)
