The event is the "Call of the Wild" at Kalamazoo Speedway in Michigan and there is only one rule; go as fast as you can to establish the world record for a 3/8th's mile track. Curt Spalding set that receord with a lap of 10.217 seconds (132.553mph), which broke the old record by nearly a half-second. During the night, Spalding broke the record first by lowering the 10.715 to 10.243. Andy Bozell then ran a 10.240, but Spalding returned to the track and busted off a lap of 10.217!
