Title: OK SO NEWBIE HERE BARE WITH ME

I have been painting cars for nr2003 forever and am finally at the point where I think my cars are good enough to show off. Instead of hassling someone to do 20+ renders, I'm looking to get into 3ds max.

Honestly, I want to be able to do outlaw late models and lmpv2 cars only. I think the scenes are pretty easy to come by and if I want to venture out...but how do I go about getting the necessary tools to get me to that point?

Can you get 3DS for free?

You can get a free version of 3dsmax, just apply for the Student license. :)  I think it's good for 3 years.
