Friday Hassler was a NASCAR Grand National and Winston Cup Series driver and one of NASCAR's most competitive independent (non-factory) drivers. In 1969, he ran 18 races on his way to a 28th place finish in the standings. He picked up 6 top 10s along the way, averaging a 16th place start, and 17th place finish. Unfortunately, he was killed in practice for the Daytona 500 in 1972.
