But i remember when N1 came out i going involved with painting cars then useing psp3 back when you have import paint palettes into the templates you where painting in order to import them into the game.

I have a bachelors degree in Graphic Arts (printing).  That being said, we had no computers when I graduated way back when.  I've learned Photoshop by playing around with it.  There are many painters here that do WAY better work than me, but I sure enjoy it.  I'll tell anyone that asks, play around with Photoshop or whatever program you're using.  Don't be afraid to make mistakes, because you learn from each one.  I've made PLENTY!!!  To those that are new to painting, like I said, try it and mess around with whatever program you're using.  If you get stuck, post here.  In my opinion, that's what I'm here for, to answer questions on stuff I've already figured out.  There's also no ONE way to do things.  The more you paint, the better you'll get.

I can agree with this 100 percent. A lot of that sounds familiar to me too! haha
