Anyone on here do any racing at Hickory Motor Speedway or close to that area? My brother(Ashley Huffman) drives the #7 in the late model series there and I am just wondering if anyone would be there for the 3rd annual Dwight Huffman Memorial Race for Charity this year. The first two years have been absolutely a great show and this year looks to be even better.

davie - if i was out there i would be in the stands watching - please excuse my ignorance but can you explain your relation to dwight and the circumstances for the memorial race - i am fairly new regular here

That's quite alright buddy. LOL! Dwight Huffman was my father and a very big part of short track racing for many years. He passed away in Feb 2008. Since his passing, there has been a memorial race for charity in his memory every year at Hickory Motor Speedway. The race has proved to be a showcase of a lot of great short track drivers the first two years now. I was wondering if there was anyone on here from the area that might be there.

I feel like, if this event keeps going the way that it has, there could be a possibility of it being broadcast on t.v. in the next couple or three years. The web site is - www.dwighthuffmanmemorial.com - It is currently down being rebuilt now.

thanks for the info - sounds like you had a great pop and had a lot of good times at the track - it is wonderful to honor him with a race - looking forward to seeing it on tv - good luck

I sure will buddy. Thanks a bunch for the comments also. Dad really was a special person. One thing that was equally as important to him alongside being successful in racing was helping others who were less fortunate. Well, thanks again for the support buddy and I'll keep updates on here every so often.
