OK. Try to keep the laughter to a minimun.  I started painting my own Dirt 55 car.  Number image is covering door lines.  What am I doing wrong???

Put the numbers layer below the cars body lines layer!

The fact that you got this far is progress!!!  On a black car, the door lines don't show up as well anyway, but as DawsonvilleBill9 said, move the number layer under the door lines.

I am trying to figure this thing out.  I trashed the black car and switched to a Ford.  I must be doing something wrong.  The first picture I see is the two car picture of the car with Desmods logo on it as the first layer. I found that if you delete that, You get the blue layout of the car.

You don't need to delete that layer, just turn it off.  I'm not sure how on Paint Shop Pro, since I've not used it.  In Photoshop, there's a layers palette that has little eyeball icons for each layer you can click on and off to show or hide the layer.  Also, in that palette, you can click and hold a layer, and move it up or down in the layer order.  Play with it awhile and see if Paint Shop Pro has a feature similar to this.  Keep trying, and keep asking questions!  I'm sure someone with more experience with Paint Shop Pro will chime in here to give you better advice than I can.  I'm a Photoshop guy for about 20 years!

I use PSP9 and you turn layers on or off the same way.  It opens both PSP and PSD files.  I also have PSPX4 and it's basically the same.

I like what you have done so far.....Also try to save often as you play around. I often save my cars as multiple files "paint-a"....b.c.d etc. This way If I want to go back, I can open an early version b or c maybe and try something else. Just stick with it and ask if you are not sure, The more you play with painting the more you learn.  :13:

we just use those to make cool dirt car numbers... you have to apply them as a texture. I think I did a tutorial on it way back in the day. search the forum and the main website for it.

Thanks everyone!!!  I am getting the hang of it.  I am doing a retro Fireball Roberts car for my son.  The lavender #22 is going to be a '55 Fairlane.  I'm hoping that this doesn't ruin my amateur standing here and that you guys will still paint cars for me.  You guys are so awesome!!!  Thank you again!!!!  I'll post it for a render if anyone would do it?
