NR2003 will run on Win7, here is what I did.

I have been searching around and found many things about this game not running in Win7. My issue was that when I tried to go out on the track, the game would crash to desktop. So I started putting bits and pieces together and finally got it to work, here is what I did:

1. Fresh install of the game, no mods, no extra tracks.
2. Ran the update patch from Sierra.(google it)
3. Placed the No-cd patch in place.
4. Turned of UAC (Vista and Win7)
5. Turned off DEP. (Vista and Win7)

note: to see if DEP is running, follow these steps:
A. Open a command prompt in admin mode,
a.)just type cmd in the start/search bar, then right click and run as admin.
B. Get to the "C" prompt.
C. Type in or paste this command:

wmic OS Get DataExecutionPrevention_SupportPolicy

note - 2 is normal, 0 is off
D. To turn it off, type or paste this command in an admin dos window:

bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx AlwaysOff

6. Rolled back my video driver to the win7 default driver.
7. Updated my sound - realtek driver
8. Ran the graphics gonfig program in the game folder to 3dxd, and 1680x1050 32 bit
9. Ran the nrtweak graphics program - you can google it.
10. Changed the texture line in the renddxg config file in game folder to put 9 -9's in place of what it had.
11. Right click icon, run in compatibility mode for win 98/ME.
12. In game folder - right click on config file and run as compatibility mode for win 98/me and as admin.
13. Tested game - worked.
14. Updated my vid card driver to latest version, ran NRTweak agian to confirm settings. Some times, changes to the game will change the settings.
15. made sure to leave the all 9's in place instead of nrtweak changing them back, just un-check the little box.
16. Replaced all mod folders, and track folders, game now runs 100+ FPS with all graphics turned on to high or extreme, including reflections and shadows.

May not have to run all of these steps, but this is exactly what I did, and it worked. Hope this helps all that get win7, or have Vista.

Enjoy...... ;D
