What has Danica Patrick accomplished in open-wheel racing? Nothing, except a win in Japan. I predict that Danica Patrick will be as successful in the Nationwide Series as Joe Nemechek has been in the Sprint Cup – basically a first class bum (in high heels).

Gotta admit, I had to read it twice to make sure you weren’t accusing Front Row Joe of wearing high heels. Comparatively speaking, I guess it’s better to be called a bum – a “bum” who actually has four career Cup wins, by the way.
I just want to be there at the first Speed Weeks press conference featuring Danica and her new NASCAR team owner, Junior Earnhardt, and wait for the question to be asked of Junior: “Do you feel it’s right to give a ride to someone based on his or her marketing potential as opposed to his or her marketing potential as opposed to his or her accomplishments or potential for accomplishment?”
Not saying I’d ask it. Not saying I agree with the premise. Just saying I might enjoy the brief moment of discomfort that would fill the the room in the moments before Junior chuckles and declares, “Oh, I get it.”
I thought that was pretty funny.
