keep in mind, you will need to resmooth the body once your done using the target weld method, at least that's what I did.

which smooth modifier you use? turbosmooth?

nope... you have to target weld each vertex... not use a modifier.

The scene has been fixed. Robert your method works but it was the long way around. LOL
