Chief Auto Parts logo

Hey Sage if you happen to have the time bud, I was wondering if you could recreate the old Chief Auto Parts logo? I can't find a version of it anywhere at all. This poster is the best version I can find of the logo itself.

Let me look through some of my old Hot Rods / Car Crafts  / Drag Racing mags to see if I can find an ad (or something).
It may be several days though as I'm buried with RL work for the Grand National Roadster Show at the moment.
I went outside once. The graphics weren't all that great.
I suffer from CDO. It's like OCD, but in alphabetical order, LIKE IT SHOULD BE!
If you can't spill it, it ain't 'paint'!

That's one I've been hunting for a while now, just the good old Chief Auto Parts logo. I remember going in to one of their stores that was open 24 hours a day at 1:30am or something to buy a hose for my '72 Courier P/U way back when...

Still digging through stuff.
Here's the sad part...
Chief was the title sponsor of the NHRA Winternationals from '86-'99 and I've attended more than one of those. Can I find anything from any of the races? Nope!
I've got a Monogram model of Billy Meyers' 7-Eleven Chief Auto Parts Mustang Funny Car. Can I find the decal sheet? Nope x2!
Haven't given up yet (I'm stubborn like that).

I may have a Chief Auto Parts sticker for a 1/10 scale RC car.  I'll look tonight.

Thanks for looking skot71 but I had some time waiting for lettering to dry (yeah, I still paint signs) and was able to finish this up (once I found a decent-sized image to work from it was relatively easy).

Get it -> Here <-.

Nice work Sage. You know, I was looking at your site the other day, I had to do some googling to get to the photo pages, but man you've done some killer stuff over the years. Especially like the trash cans and toilet seats!

Let me know if you ever decide you want to put together an easy to manage CMS site with a gallery component. I can't do the graphic work you do... but I can sling some code for sure.

A CMS site? That's geek greek to me. I know what a gallery is and I've even looked into those but I've never seen one that really grabbed me (plus, as you may have noticed, none of my web pages look alike ~ that's deliberate on my part ~ I figure if I try to never make signs look the same then why should my web site). But I'll keep it in mind.

Thanks for liking my work. The charity stuff (trash cans & seats) are always cool to do because there aren't any restrictions. This is my 47th year painting signs and every day is still as much fun as it was when I started. I couldn't ask for much more than that. Been doing a bunch of airbrushing on signs for the Grand National Roadster Show in L.A. later this month. Those are a hoot to do.

Was the website hard to find or just the photos? Usually if you Google 'Acme Signs' I show up on the 1st page of results. Or was there a problem with my hack coding? Just wondering.

well, if you google your name or acme signs you are number 1, but your homepage doesn't link through to the other pages correctly. It takes me to a white page with broken image boxes everywhere.

All fixed. That was my coding error (one day I'll learn to stop doing things in the middle of the night right before bed. Yeah...one day).
It's also what happens when you have a 2 TB HD wiped clean by a Win7 install (and without even asking 1st) and you lose everything from the past decade and have to start over. Sometimes I miss the little things.
Sorry.
