Saving paints in PSP X4.

How do I save a paint in PSP to where you can go back later and still have all of your layers  active.  I save a paint and when I go back, the only layer available is a "background" layer.  Thanks in advance for any help I can get.  I have PSP X4.

If you save it as a PSP or PSD file, all the layers should be there. Paint Shop Pro opens Photoshop files but Photoshop doesn't open PSP files.

Thank you, L2B!!  Trying to get better with my ability as a painter.  Couldn't do it without the help of the people here at Racing Grafix.
