Update on my painting  attempts it is starting to come together,
i have painted one very basic car based on the #25 Folgers car.
Can some one tell which is the layer to put the name on the windshield please.
I have used the text tool and can write in other place's but can not get it to show on the windshield.
Cheers

Drag that layer to the very top and it should work.

OK, when you type what you want, find out what layer it's on.  The layers name should be what you've typed.  Click on that layer in your layer palette, then click and hold and drag it up to the top of the layer palette.  You're moving that type above the windshield shading.  Play around with it and you'll see what I mean.

If this is one of the new Gen6 templates (say from BER) then there are several easy ways to find the layer that has the windshield banner text on it. The easiest is to grab what ever your particular selection tool is (in Photoshop it looks like an arrow with a + sign next to it and it is usually at the top of the Tools Pallette), hover it over the name that shows on the template and right-click. A flyout should open giving yo a list of what layers are under where you clicked (see attached). You want to select the layer named 'LAST NAME'. The typeface is called Berthold Akzidenz Grotesk BE and if you don't already have it installed in your system (C:\Windows\Fonts) then you can get it at: http://www.fontyukle.net/en/Berthold+Akzidenz+Grotesk+BE+Extra+Bold+Condensed+Italic.ttf

Then, using your Type Tool you highlight the text, type what you want and, if need be, center it in the banner.

Does this help?

I went outside once. The graphics weren't all that great.

If you can't spill it, it ain't 'paint'!

The only thing I see that could be improved upon is that you have all of your graphics (logos, numbers, etc.) above the shading layers. Put your graphics just above the base color so that the shading, body lines, etc. will have an effect on the graphics.
