DDS Files.
« on: 03/28/11, 06:11 PM »
What program can I use to edit and save DDS files.  I have Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo XII and PSP 8.1.  I also have Photoshop CS 3.  Have tried to open DDS files in all of them, to no avail.....

Thanks

What operating system you using? Under XP I use DDS Converter v2.1 (freeware) Under Windows 7 I haven't found one I use yet! They say nVidia Tools will do it under Win7! Know where you're going...been there, done that already! here's a DDS file I converted to use as a template for this hauler tractor! ;)

CS3 will open them fine but you do have to have the nvidia plugin. Also I do believe that your CS3 has to be 32 bit instead of 64.

Yeah, i use DDS converter 2.1 I paint using GIMP, so i save it as a .jpeg file, and convert it to a .dds file, or a paint-shop file, whatever. DDS converter is great.

Same here I use the DDS converter 2.11 after saving my paint in TGA format. My computer seems to mess up the conversion when using CS3 with the plugins..
