SNOWBALL DERBY WEEK!!!!
« on: 11/30/10, 08:53 PM »
Its that time of year and damn do I miss home.. Its time for the 43rd Snowball Derby. If you have never been you need to go it is one hell of a time with some great racing. If you are like me and cant make it you can keep up with all the action on speed51.com they do a great job and for short trackers like me that now live were there is no racing (and sure as hell not any now in the snow) its the only way to keep up with the greatest SLM race in the world.. Hopefully next year I will make it home for the derby and get to catch up with all my old friends.. enjoy..

Chase will be a contender he won the gulf coast championship and the blizzard series this year at Five Flags Speedway, and has shown he has the skill to win the longer races.. This kid will be one of the greatest of all time when it is all said and done.. I love watching these young kids come up.. My 3 to watch Jo Long, Chase Elliott and Ross Kenseth..

I'd keep an eye out for the J.R. Norris & Richie Wauters combo, they have run well together in the past.

One year I'm going to make a trip out to watch this race......

Being from Canada, Racing has been done now since early October. I have been going to the Derby for the last 7 years. I fly down every year. I am flying in on Friday morning. I cannot wait. It truly is an awsome race. The snowflake is almost as good as the derby. But the best races the last couple of years has been the last chance races. And last year, Kyle Busch earned some respect from me as he drove on e hell of a race. I agree watch out for the Wauters car, but this year is going to be David Ragan.  :13:

yep Ragan is in Wauters car this year and they should be tough.. Another guy to watch out for is Mike Garvey he has been hot the last couple of months and he is way over due for a win at the derby.. I just uploaded a lot of my old Derby photos on facebook (matt wyse) and I sent them to speed51 as well they already posted one of them on there live coverage today..

Ive been away for 3 weeks at work in North Dakota.. But I have to say wow and way to go Jo Long what a great job.. Im from Pcola Fl and it is so cool when a local driver wins the race but for this 18yr old young lady to win this race is awsome.. Boys she is the real deal if she can get some backing and alittle luck in the trucks next year she will be on her way.. Congrats again Jo..
