The point is that you don't have to be at a racetrack as fast as Atlanta for someone to get hurt or killed, not to mention these cars have proven they have a much lower take-off speed than the previous cars on multiple occasions. A driver could be seriously injured or killed on any racetrack even tracks far slower & smaller than Bristol or Martinsville. Another thing most people don't even consider is that the young kids who aspire to be racecar drivers look up to these guys, the example of wreck the guy that wrecked you is not the example they need to be sending. For these reasons I feel nascar needs to levy one of their harshest penalties on Edwards for his lack of self control, as well as Roush racing for it's failure to control it's drivers. Now I realize many people don't like Keselowski & I myself think he needs to tone down his aggressiveness, but I lost all respect I had for Edwards after that wreck, whether the result was intended or not doesn't matter the wreck didn't need to happen. Nascar may also want to look into something stronger than 1 3/4 .090 steel tubing for the roll cages due to the collapse of both Keselowski's car sunday &  Newman's car at Talladega last fall,  just doesn't seem strong enough for the speeds, weight & design of the current car.

i agree uncalled for, but edwards is fed up with kesolowski thinking hes a vet when hes not, if you think, if SR was racing with this car, there would be alot more peope up in the fence, and hes still loved? so for carl, a point deduction, or mabey suspendion, but ban? come on now

dumb move by Carl but how many times has brad put out someone. Certain people and teams can put cars out all the time but Nascar says it was a racing instance and no one get anything. Carl shouldn't have done it at all but at that speed DUMB MOVE. If Nascar would treat everyone the same and use a standered   fine and penalty to every one it would be different. (you put someone out intentionally lose a set amount of $, points, and suspensions ) Then drivers and teams would think (maybe) about what they do on the track.  Nothing is set in stone, it is just who you are and what sponsors you have. That's just my opinion. Nascar said then would let them police themselves and this is what is going to happen. Still DUMB MOVE CARL

If you're gonna take someone out intentionally, and you're ~160 laps down to him, hook him to the right, so the car noses into the fence.

I personally think Carl should be suspended for 10 races, but let Roush put someone else in the 99.

If Carl is suspended, I would expect Colin Braun to take his place.

A Good Start.

You might be a NASCAR fan if you can remember every driver and their car number but can't remember how old your children are!

The team team to be punished so they will attempt to control their drivers, so in my opinion the 99 car itself should not be allowed to race for at least a couple of weeks. I'm not one of those people who liked when Dale Sr. payed guys back either, but he many times did that in such a way that it was very hard to tell if it was on purpose.

I feel sorry for both Carl and Brad. I feel sorry for carl because thats not what he wanted to happen at all. it's like if you trip someone and their nose gets broken. if Carl knew that would have happened he wouldn't have done that. I feel sorry for Brad because he was taken out of the race when he would have had a top 10 finish. Brad is way too agressive though, he needs to tone it down a bit, maybe he will in the future. If he doesn't he will end up upside down and in the wall again. I really feel bad for Carl though, he didn't expect the car to do anything like what it did...

But the sad part of that is the guy you tripped still has a broken nose and you can't change that!

i dont root for either one - but i like them both for being hard driving race car drivers

i have not liked carls character ever since he did the fake punch bs with kenseth while kenseth was being interviewed a couple years ago -

at tally and yesterday carl came down on brad - and carl expects him to give room - well dont cut down - there was plenty of room where he was and brad kept his line

imho - the replay of carl chasing brad and missing (almost spinning out) - before he did get to him was pathetic - then to get busted on tv where it clearly shows him turning right into him -

i know a lot of people dislike the cup series for several reasons - every year it gets more entertaining for me
