Bill you have it right, the end result is what's important. How would Edwards have felt had he injured or even killed Keselowski, & being around racing for 23 years I was truly surprised that Keselowski was not injured in some way the cage of the car collapsed quite a large amount. Payback is one thing I wish would not happen in racing as even racetracks that are considered slow drivers can be injured or killed. I myself have been at a local track where a driver was killed the accident was not a retaliatory accident but it still happened. That track was a flat 1/4 mile a place no one would ever expect something like that to happen. The reason a large penalty needs to be put out is to set an example because the consequences of allowing this to continue could be very serious as well as irreversible.

he wont get suspended, hes a big name, wont happen, if so, they would have needed to suspend SR ALOT, if he was in this new car, there would be people in the fence, and even dead, and you cant say it wouldent happen, so heavy heavy fine, probation, points taken away, NO SUSPENSION

I kinda figured that would happen...  I just wonder if it had been someone like say John Andretti who wrecked Brad, would the outcome been any different????

Lets see how long the 99 lasts at Bristol...
What do you call 10,000 Restrictor plates at the bottom of the ocean?
A Good Start.

You might be a NASCAR fan if you can remember every driver and their car number but can't remember how old your children are!

I personally think if Keselowski is going to send a message to Edwards & nascar it will be at Texas, since nascar seems to be letting drivers use the eye for an eye policy. Although I hope that nothing happens I've worked on racecars since I was old enough to walk so I don't feel the payback stuff is the right way to go just makes more work for the crew guys, if the drivers had to fix the cars or worry about paying for the damages they wouldn't be so gungho  about it either. If nascar wants more emotion maybe they need to get a boxing ring & let the guys go a couple rounds they'd have  less tore up racecars.

"2. This is being blown out of proportion due to the fact that Kes went airborne...Carl didn't intend that...he wanted to wreck him (still wrong), not send him flying. I've seen payback happen before...this was one of those freak crashes."

EXACTLY! It's NASCAR's fault if anything for putting a untested car on the track. That wing is picking the cars up! Watch the trunk lid, it pulls up on both Edwards at Talladega and BK at Alanta, and Newman's too for that matter. That wing is picking these cars up and because of that now "The boys can't be boys". Whatever happened to 79? The Fight, or how about 99 Bristol, Earnhardt vs Terry? Or Rusty vs Gordon at Bristol. The Pass In The Grass, all of that was caused by agressive driving exactly like what Edwards did. Slap the spoiler on, get rid of the splitter and make that a straight down peice like that old days, and lets get to racing!

Ya know, you are exactly RIGHT!!!  I have said that ever since NASCAR brought the COT out, go back to the old style cars and let the boys race...  And while they are at it, get ride of the restrictor plate!!......

That would make putting the spoiler on useless. A car going backwards at 220+ at Daytona or Talladega, spoiler or not, will fly.
